Student Rules and Regulations

Dear Parents or Guardians,

Welcome to Condor Physical Education.  I would like to give a quick explanation of the physical education program. A few of the goals of Condor Physical Education program is to engage the students in physical activities that will improve and/or maintain their physical health and well being.  Another goal is to encourage students to apply the skills and knowledge they acquire during class and to seek opportunities to be life long movers.

Students attend two 50 minute Physical Education classes a week.  Please check with your student’s teacher for days and times.  Please help your child be prepared for physical education classes.  They will need to wear appropriate clothing (no loose jewelry), closed-toed athletic shoes and socks, and sunscreen.  Bringing a water bottle (no sports drinks or juices) labeled with name and room number will be beneficial.

Students will receive two marks in P.E., one in relation to the National Content Standards for Physical Education, and one for their overall effort.  Participation in P.E. is vital; it is how the effort portion of the P.E. grade is determined.  If your child is sick or unable to participate in all activities, please send a note with the specific ailment and your suggested restrictions.  This will excuse up to two class periods.  If your child is unable to participate for more than two Physical Education classes, a doctor’s note must be presented for an excused absence.  This note must include how long to be excused for and limitations.  If a student sits out of P.E. they will be asked to sit out of ALL recesses that day.  If your child is struggling in an area of the P.E. program, he/she will receive a parent notice at mid-trimester mark.

Please discuss and review the basic rules for P.E. with your child to ensure a positive Physical Education experience.  The rules are Respect yourself, Respect others, Respect equipment, and No food or drinks other then water.

If a school day is impacted by excessive weather (heat, rain/ice, wind), Physical Education classes will be held indoors.

I am looking forward to working with you and teaching your children.  If you have any questions, concerns, and/or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school.

Thank you,
